A few Christmases ago, my mom got me one of the best gifts I’ve ever received:
an ice blue KitchenAid stand mixer:
That’s not actually my mixer, because my kitchen would never look that organized. But you get the picture.
All my life, I thought I enjoyed baking.
I liked following the rules… working with my hands to create something delicious… I enjoyed making my friends and family happy with the baked goods I created.
But when I got that mixer, suddenly, everything jumped up a notch. Or more like 10 notches…
Everything became easier, smoother, simpler… And if I thought I enjoyed baking before, now that I had the mixer, it was a whole different ballgame.
I loved baking. And I couldn’t wait for new opportunities to bake and new recipes to try.
And I was making things I never thought I’d be able to make before:
