Are you scared for America in 2024?
I ask because this country has always been the land of the free and the home of the brave… a land of optimism.
Nowadays, I’m not so sure…
Our politicians abuse their privilege by freely trading on inside information… and nothing is done.
Then, they turn around and spy on private citizens with the same technology they use to suppress free speech.
In other words: the political elite are running roughshod over their constituents.
And what do we do about it?
We look away and bite our tongues.
The American citizenry has grown soft, complacent, and scared.
Law enforcement hesitates to lock up criminals because of political backlash. Instead, we vote to “defund” the police and turn cities like San Francisco into drug-filled war zones.
We fear hard work and personal responsibility. Instead, we demanded our government send stimulus checks (i.e., free government money), resulting in the worst inflation crisis in 40 years.
These things shouldn’t happen in a functioning society. They’re signs that the system is breaking down.
Like the fall of Rome, America’s decay is slow and insidious. Hardly noticeable by the naked eye.
Do you see it? I do.
The America I grew up in is a far cry from the one my kids and grandkids will know.
But that doesn’t mean I’ve lost hope.
And neither have a small group of folks I’d like to introduce you today.
