AMD, Alphabet Earnings Could Spark a Tech Rally — But Rising Rates Pose a Risk

ON DECK FOR TODAY’S VIP TRADE ROOM:  Monday-Friday: noon ET Why now may be the best time to enter the market, momentum, blue chips taking a back seat, utilities, a potential tech breakout, and fast-moving alpha stocks — with options — and come celebrate Uncle Roger’s birthday!   JOIN US HERE! _________________________________________________   AMD, Alphabet Earnings Could Spark a Tech Rally — But Rising Rates Pose a Risk   We have a big, big day of earnings for tech, and the Nasdaq has been outperforming the Dow for several days, though the Dow tried playing catchup Monday.  We have Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) and Google parent Alphabet (GOOG; GOOGL) both after the close today, which are sure to move the Nasdaq.  We also have the JOLTS and Consumer Confidence reports coming at 10 a.m. ET, which could add some volatility.  We do have a major market impediment, and that’s interest rates, which are going higher… I would have expected us to bounce or consolidate in teh 10-year note, but instead we broke down, which means rates are rising — not good for the economy.  I am now for the Fed lowering rates a half-point, which I feel like they need to do.  I for one can’t wait to hear what the Fed is saying about the long bond (TLT) because adjustable mortgage rates are going up every week, and that’s not good!
