Stuck on the sidelines

It’s not always the worst place to be

AUGUST 9, 2024

Hey y’all…

Before we dive into what I wanted to say, here’s a pretty cool note about the week as a whole.

(If you’re in the ProsperityPub Telegram, you already saw this note. If you’re not, why haven’t you signed up? It’s free!)

Take a look at this chart…

As I write this, about 10am ET on Friday, we are legitimately within striking distance of the SPY closing above last Friday’s close, making it bullish for the week.

Now, when you think back to just Monday, that’s legitimately crazy.

I mean, we had people panicking about a new recession just 96 hours ago…

And now here we are pretty close to breakeven.

It’s crazy to think about. And whether we get there or we don’t, the truth is, this is a palpable reminder that the stock market is unpredictable and fickle.

As we said Monday, “you can’t let one loss or one bad day in the markets overwhelm you. You just need to get back up and start swimming again.”

The rest of this week has been good proof of that.

Now, onto important things: football!

And before you roll your eyes, no, this isn’t another “Stephen rambles about sports post.”

I just want to use one football analogy and then it’s right back into the markets.

(And I’ll even sneak Taylor Swift in there for anyone who doesn’t jive with the sports metaphors)...

But football season is right around the corner.

I mean, technically it’s already started, but the NFL preseason is a joke. It’s not officially “football season” until college football kicks off OR it’s the first Sunday of RedZone season, whichever comes first.

Football is a team game. There are 11 players on each side of the ball, and they all have to do their jobs cohesively or that team loses.

And that means whether you're the quarterback or the fullback, whether you’re a linebacker or a punter, your job is important.

But what’s the one place you never want to be in a football game?

On the sidelines…

If you’re on the sidelines, you’re either waiting for your chance to play or make an impact, or, worse, you’re not good enough to start and you’re warming the bench.

Put another way, in the words of one of our great poets, “she’s cheer captain and I’m on the bleachers.” You don’t wanna be on the bleachers…

Unless you’re a trader. If you’re a trader, sitting on the sideline is one of the BEST things you can do…

Let me give an example. And this is pretty cool, what you’re about to read is a private message from Nate Tucci to his Automated Options subscribers.

Nobody else gets to read this except you (I told you I was trying to bring you deeper access than you can get anywhere else!)

Here’s what Nate had to say:

For those who don’t know, Automated Options hasn’t traded for the last three weeks, and most likely won’t trade today.

Why?

Because they’re following the rules of a strategy, rules that are researched to give them the best opportunities to win.

And that’s how Nate built a 10-1 track record on these LIVE alerts as well.

I mean just look at this…

That’s a picture from TradingView, using Nate’s AOP indicator (which VIP members get for free) and you can see exactly how everything plays out perfectly.

10 wins in a row, and then finally, the QQQ peaked and they took a loss. But Nate didn’t let the losses snowball. Because he followed his strategy (I won’t give away all the secret sauce of how that works, but it has to do with that big red bar behind the three red candles) and he sat on the sidelines.

And guess what? I’d bet his AOP traders are happy that he helped them avoid three total losses. I certainly am!

So, to review: sidelines are bad for football players. Bleachers are bad for Taylor Swift. But either one might be the best place to be if you’re a trader in a spiraling market.

Hope you have an amazing weekend!!
