PPI Surprise Sparks Premarket Jitters, Disney’s Earnings Pop Should Give a Boost to Blue Chips

Excluding more volatile food and energy prices, the number came in at 2.2%, and it was 2.0% a year ago.  Disney (DIS) reported strong earnings and is up 10% ahead of the open, which should give blue chips and consumer discretionary stocks a boost.  I mentioned earlier this week that Consumer Discretionary (XLY) was a sector to watch, and it’s now the second-strongest in the market.  We have Applied Materials (AMAT) reporting after the close today. It’s a very influential chip stock that could spur some action in those names.  The 10-year note, however, is still breaking down because the dollar is making highs due to Trump’s pro-tariff policies, which the market sees as inflationary.  Gold is also falling to the 100-day moving average because of the rising rates We have Retail Sales data coming on Friday — so remember Consumer Discretionary!   That and More in Today’s ‘Premarket Must Watch’ _________________________________________________ Today’s A-Line Setup Could Be Winner No. 17 Straight  I shared the A-line pattern with over 2,500 people back on July 15.
